Two public forums will be held on the next two Thursday evenings to inform voters of the issues involved in the Feb. 2 referendum question on the Roos property. At stake is whether voters will authorize the park district to collect $6 million in additional property taxes to buy, develop and maintain the vacant 2.5 acre property at Harrison Street and Circle Avenue.
The forums will be held Jan. 14 and Jan. 21. Both forums will start at 7 p.m. and be held on the second floor of the park district’s administrative building, at 7501 Harrison.
Citizens United in Forest Park will sponsor the Jan. 14 forum. The park board will host the Jan. 21 forum. Members of the park board will be present at both forums to answer questions.
