A fourth pay box will soon be up and running at the village owned parking lot by the CTA Blue Line station. Last week, the village council unanimously approved spending $14,762 to purchase another pay box for municipal parking lot 13A, which is on Van Buren Street next to the station.
The lot has seen increased use since the CTA raised the parking rate at its lot to $5 while the parking rate at the village lot has remained at $3, according to municipal officials. The new box should speed up the payment process in the morning for rushed commuters. This will be the seventh automated pay box in the village. Each device allows motorists to pay with cash, debit cards or credit cards.
