Back in November, when the park district officially said it would try and purchase the vacant and blighted 2.5-acre parcel that sits immediately to its east, we editorialized that voters should come out in force and support this initiative. That opinion hasn’t changed, nor have the myriad reasons why you should vote yes on Feb. 2.
By purchasing the so-called Roos property at Harrison and Circle, the park district could make a logical expansion of its facilities to benefit generations of users.
We’ll say it again. This property will someday be developed. On Feb. 2 you can decide whose interests are served.
