Managing the stress of police work will be the focus of a three-day workshop next month, and Forest Park Police Chief Jim Ryan said his entire department will be participating in the program. The stress relief training is being held in cooperation with several neighboring police departments, and will cost Forest Park only $450 to participate.
On April 15, 22 and 27, officers from six area departments will meet in North Riverside, which has a larger training room. Also participating are Riverside, Hillside, Broadview and Brookfield. According to a statement released by the North Riverside department, the training would have cost each department more than $2,200 if they did it individually.
