A small fire on the roof of a strip mall still under construction was quickly extinguished by firefighters during the early morning hours of Feb. 24. According to Chief Steve Glinke, his department responded to 1215 Harlem shortly after midnight and had the flames under control within a few minutes.
No major damage was inflicted by the blaze, and it does not appear to be suspicious, said Glinke. Construction crews have been installing a roof on the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
