If you missed the recent forum at village hall about updates to Forest Park’s zoning ordinance on Non-Conforming Uses and Non-Conforming Structures, mark your calendar fast for another presentation on the matter this week.

At 7 p.m. this Thursday, March 25, at the public library, the community watchdog group known as Citizens United in Forest Park is hosting an informational meeting on both what’s coming in zoning changes and in what’s coming in revisions for Forest Park’s building code.

Village Administrator Tim Gillian will be telling everyone gathered about coming changes in the zoning code. “This is about how we’re going to make like easier for people who have two-flats in an R1,” Gillian said, referring to a zoning matter that affects more than half the residential property owners in Forest Park.

Also at the meeting will be Forest Park Fire Chief Steve Glinke, who will be briefing property owners about revisions in the village’s building code.

Forest Park Library is at 7555 Jackson, at the Desplaines intersection.
