Patty Marino, who suffered $30,000 worth of damage when a parkway tree fell onto her house on Marengo, posted the following on the Forest Park Forums site:
“My heart breaks for all of my Forest Park neighbors now. I walk and drive around town and see Dumpsters everywhere full of people’s treasures. I know we could all be worse off, but this is hard for everyone.”
To assist residents with cleanup, the village has placed Dumpsters at the following locations for flood-damaged items: 15th Street; 14th Street; 13th Street; Fillmore, just east of Circle; and Lexington, just east of Circle.
