Friday, June 18, is a day we’ll all remember.
The rainstorm came and power was out everywhere. It was the Code Red of all rainstorms. The Village of Forest Park was on full alert. ComEd verified that they were evaluating the problem.
Saturday morning, June 19, whom did I see at 8 a.m. on Harlem Avenue and Washington, but our mayor – watching the progress of the workers in this great village.
But it didn’t stop there. At 5 p.m., when I went out to eat, there was Mayor Calderone with the workers, speaking to residents, and getting an update of the progress completed and what was to be done. The sight of the mayor made me think about us being considered Big City Access, Small Town Charm.
Maybe we should be called A Family Town with a Loving Heart.
