If the village failed notably on the man-made disaster of the Tuscan Lofts, it’s performing far better on the nature-made flooding disaster of 10 days back. The village’s follow-up efforts have been quick, efficient and helpful to residents swamped by the storm.
We admire the multiple ways the village has reached out to residents to provide practical help in filing for possible help from FEMA, in collecting things damaged by floodwater, in temporarily lifting the night parking ban and in warning residents of potential home-repair scammers.
This is the sort of focus and execution that villagers should be able to expect from their municipal government. It has been impressive and is appreciated.
