Even more flood relief could be available

Seminar to be hosted about chances of lower property taxes

The aid relief just keeps on coming.

Forest Park homeowners who received damage from the July floods could now have a chance to lower their property taxes.

The Proviso Township Assessor’s Office will be educating residents on how to file a Residential Assessed Valuation Appeal for their 2010 property taxes during a seminar on Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Howard Mohr Community Center located at 7640 Jackson Blvd.

Residents should bring a tax bill or property index number, as well pictures of their flood damage or a letter from FEMA.
