Very sad news for patrons of Old School Records, Madison and Beloit. A dog named Titus had a little sister, Brandi, who died last week after a short illness. Brandi, a litter mate of Titus, was found several years ago drinking from a pond somewhere in Florida. Someone found her and took her to a local vet where she was checked for a chip. The chip identified the breeder, who contacted Jodi and Peter Janakopoulis and asked if they would like to adopt Titus’s sister. They took her in gladly and everyone fell in love with the poor little waif, skinny, flea-infested dog that was full of sores. For about three years Brandi enjoyed a love-filled life, but after a recent fall she developed back problems and a few other problems. Her short life ended two weeks ago.
On a happier note, Gerri and Roger Grant welcomed grandchild number seven. Stella Hope Zach arrived Nov. 2 with Gerri on hand to assist. Shirley and Jack Christell welcomed great grandchild number seven, grandson of daughter Val who hurried off to Ft. Knox to be with the family.
Speaking of Shirley, the library has requested a moratorium on acquiring books. Some work is being done in the storage room so there is no place for them for a few weeks. Shirley will let us know when the call is out for more books.
The Gassi School of Music held a music recital at Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Park last Sunday, Nov. 14. Among the performers were Liz Walz, Forest Park violinist and young cellists Michael Goto and Ernesto Gassi. Ms. Walz played Sarabande by Bohm; the cellists performed Hot Cross Buns, Choo Choo Train and Mississippi Hotdog, folk songs and a Suzuki arrangement.
