Irmgard “Irma” Seidel, of Forest Park passed away on New Year’s Eve, at 88 years old. She was born in Bolkendorf, Germany. In 1940, Irma married Walter Seidel.
She had three children: Eva Redenz, with whom she lived in Forest Park, Ilona McCleary, Guenter Seidel and the late Marold Seidel. Irma also had six grandchildren and was the great grandmother of nine. She was the sister of Anneliese Seidler, Manfred Koppe, the late Lisa Ringhand, and Guenter Koppe, who is also deceased.
Irma worked at Carson Pirie Scott for 28 year until her retirement in 1990. Some of her hobbies were gardening, baking, and being outdoors. Irma was passionate about animals and had several pets. A memorial fund has been set up in her honor at The Animal Care League, 1011 Garfield, in Oak Park.
A funeral was held last week at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 Division, in River Forest. Burial at Concordia Cemetery, 7900 Madison, in Forest Park.
