Forest Park is preparing for what the National Weather service is calling “a dire blizzard” by readying many of its resources.

A fleet of the village’s nearly 20 vehicles will be ready to plow streets and sidewalks when the snow starts. The police department has canceled any off-days that officers had for the next three days. Residents received an automated call from the village Monday warning them that “snow routes will be strictly enforced.”  Forest Parkers should park their vehicles inside, if possible.

“All in all, we’re as ready as we can be,” said Village Administrator Tim Gillian.
