Keep May 15 open on your calendar. That’s the date of the annual pasta dinner sponsored by the Forest Park Kiwanis Club, and it’s also a great way to see and talk to your neighbors. You probably haven’t seen them because of the many months of ice and snow. It’s always a noisy, but friendly event. It starts at 3:30 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. Regular admission is $8 and $5 for kids and seniors. The dinner is at the Howard Mohr Community Center. Hope to see you there.

While you’re waiting for Louie’s to reopen, you might try breakfast or lunch at Thyme and Honey.  It’s always such a bright and cheery place, there’s delicious food and you get a lot of bang for your buck.  In fact, if you’re a light eater, one lunch can last for two more meals.  A moderate eater might also get slightly more than one meal. They’re at 7525 Madison St. and there’ s lots of free parking in the rear.
