The Forest Park Review received the Illinois Press Association’s top award for General Excellence in 2010, as well as several other honors at a reception in Springfield last week.
The IPA judges noted that the General Excellence Award was given to the Review for a variety of reasons, among them: “Clear, captivating photos of all subjects. Nice overall look of pages. Nice use of headlines and sub-headlines. Great writing on opinion page. Unique feature stories. Overall, very enjoyable!” The award was for non-dailies with circulations under 3,000.
The Review also received a number of awards for design, feature photo, sports photo and general news photo.
