A reminder to all who ever went to, or heard of, Saint Bernardine’s: Sept. 10 is the date of the reunion. The cost for everything (except the photo) is $40. You can reach Sheree Pintozzi Bredow at 785-633-3384 to make your reservation. Sheree is living in Kansas now, but she’ll surely be there for this great reunion.
A little bit of heaven fell from the skies one day and nestled in Lemont. When the angels saw it, they named it Narnia Estates. Narnia was the site of the recent wedding of Lydia Grant and Joel Zach. After their storybook wedding ceremony, the couple honeymooned in Bora Bora. They stayed near the ocean, in a romantic cottage that could only be reached by boat, or by walking a long narrow deck. May their future be as beautiful as their beginning. Lydia is a nurse and Joel is in graduate school at Moody Bible Institute. They will probably spend much of their future traveling and doing missionary work.
Sympathy for the family of Bud Buy; he was a fixture around the park for as long as anyone can remember. Special thoughts go out to Bud’s mother, Lorraine Boy, too.
The Park’s new kitchen was used for the first time at Bud’s luncheon last Monday. It is beautiful, well equipped and is a good space for just about any occasion. Dennis Crotty is proud of the room and will gladly show it off.
How is your garden growing? Flavour Cooking School, 7401 Madison St., is planning a canning class for mid August. You can attend a pickling class, a jam and jelly course, and a tomato class.
