The crossing guards, kids and parents who were greeted every morning by Bobby Davis are no doubt devastated by the news of his untimely death. Sympathy to Bobby’s friends and family; he will be missed by many in Forest Park. There will be a service for him on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Paradise Baptist Church, 6736 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago.
More sympathy to the family and friends of Christine Caldarulo. Christine left us earlier this month. She was 72.

Congratulations to Sheree Pintozzi Bredow and Mary Hoffman on the spectacular job they did organizing the Saint Bernardine reunion. Old friends from 31 states attended, classes from as far back as 1938 were there. There was much hugging, laughing, some tears and plenty of great food from Jimmy’s.

Here’s a little more information about our “Great Sun” window at the library – the one that was vandalized a few weeks ago. The glass came from France and Germany and the window was paid for by the Centennial Committee, the Forest Park Woman’s Club, and other donors. That’s according to info I received from Robert Brayden. The window was dedicated to man’s quest for beauty and purpose, and the library’s role in fulfilling both of these.
