Sympathy to Gus Scolire and the family and friends of Marie Scolire; Marie died peacefully last week.  The Scolires are legends in Forest Park.  She will be missed by many, especially her little white poodle, Buddy.

The folks at St. Bernardine’s honored Judge O’Malley, on Oct. 23, with a Mass and a get-together to watch the Bears-Tampa Bay game.

Marie Spence and Patty Marino thought the day was too beautiful to waste indoors, so they joined the outdoor grill team in the Saint Bernardine’s parking lot. Some very young football fans, Diojan, Taejan, Lavon, Emaree and Dee (all pictured at right), also enjoyed the autumn afternoon.

Megan Nutley is not one to be deterred by the slow economy.  She produced her very own distinctive line of stationery and occasion cards called Silhouette Blue. You can look at the merchandise and purchase it when it’s on display at Megan’s home, 422 Beloit Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 1-4 p.m.

Congratulations and good luck to the new president and board of the Historical Society of Forest Park. The new president is Augie Aleksy and the vice president is Ken Knack. The secretary is Andrew Cooper and Sally Cody is treasurer. The board of directors includes: Mike Thompson, John Rice, Mark Rogovin and Carl Schwebl.

The resurrected society needs volunteers to fill many operations. Thanks to Art Sundry, a vacant storefront on Madison Street will serve as the temporary headquarters for the society.

A very entertaining and educational slide presentation was given by Ken before the voting took place.
