Honoring our veterans
Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:00 a.m., Popelka Park, Thomas and Adams:
All are welcome to attend the annual Veterans Day Ceremony. This year the Police Department Color Guard will be joined by the mayor and commissioners. The Middle School Band, directed by Robert Kelly, will play the National Anthem, Taps and patriotic marches. Following the ceremony, the Community Center will provide a hot dog lunch for the band.
Service to Youth Award

Art at the bank
Landscapes and cityscapes by artist Jill A. Kramer will be on display in the Oak Park Area Arts Council gallery at Forest Park National Bank. The exhibit will be on display until Dec. 31. Grand Opening

Big Boss 2 is conducting an official Grand Opening with free samples and entertainment this Saturday. Mayor Anthony Calderone will be on hand for the occasion. All are welcome.
Dear Soldier
Friday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m., Forest Park Public Library:
In honor of Veterans Day, the library will host Dear Soldier: Kids Write Letters to Veterans in the Activity Room to thank our veterans with a personal note or drawing that will be personally delivered. Families and kids of all ages. Drop-in event, no advance registration required.
Community Garden Work Day
Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m., St. John Lutheran Church:
Lend a hand as St. John’s prepares their community garden for the winter. Bring tools, gloves or just yourself to work with the earth and nice people.
