Mary E. Galloway died on Nov. 7, at the age of 94. She was a long-time resident of Forest Park, but died at Peace River Medical Center in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Mary was born on March 29, 1917, in Bellwood. She was the daughter of Konrad and Dorothea (Lenk) Bisterfeldt. She married Thomas Edmund “Eddie” Galloway on August 14, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Forest Park. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Rudolph (Rudy), Richard (Richie) and Walter (Wally), two older sisters, Olga and Frieda, and a twin sister, Martha.

Mary is survived by her two sons, James (Jeanette) Galloway, of Rancho Cordova, Calif., and Dennis (Sharon) Galloway of North Port, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kathleen (David) Ducharme, of Lynn, Mass.; two grandsons, Neil (Tracy) Galloway, of Amesbury, Mass., and Shawn Galloway, of Bensenville. She was also surived by four great-grandchildren, Alicia Ducharme, Nicole (and Robert) Ellis, Connor and Erin Galloway; and two great-great-grandchildren, McKenna and Emmerson Ellis.

Mary lived in Forest Park for close to 75 years. She was a member of St. John’s Luther Church, where she attended school, was confirmed and married. She also served on numerous committees, including Ladies Bible Class, Altar Guild. She was a past president of Ruth Guild and Ladies Aid Societies, too.
