We here at Wednesday Journal, Inc., which owns the Review, are bidding a sad farewell to Becky Lomax, our longtime design editor, and a friend to all. Becky is moving on to a real estate firm nearer to her home, in Chicago. There’s a bit more money in it, as well.
The Oak Park Animal Care League is hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Friday, Dec. 2, and on Saturday, Dec. 3, too. Both will run 9 a.m.-3p.m. The Community Bank of Oak Park and River Forest donated its space at 809 S. Oak Park Ave., for the event.

There are puzzles, recipes for dog treats, and an advice column in which Cousin Pearl (a kindly, understanding bloodhound) offers advice. This month Twinkie wants to make an impression on Thanksgiving guests and possibly acquire some bites of turkey. Cousin Pearl advises Twinkie to put on the “Poor me” face and to work her way around the table.
The Saint Bernardine Women’s Club is hosting a Christmas Party, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is by Freddy’s, in Cicero! Festive entertainment will follow. Reservations are $15 per person, and must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 6.
