Significant portions of south Forest Park and Oak Park lost electricity this morning when several power lines were malfunctioning, according to a ComEd spokesperson.
Martha Swaney, spokesperson for ComEd, said that around 2,000 customers had lost power. The first such report came at 10:30 a.m., Swaney said, but by mid afternoon nearly 75 percent of those affected had their energy restored. What’s more, Crews are still working on inoperative power lines, she said.
“We are to get the remaining [outages] restored as quickly and as safely as possible,” Swaney said.
