Police stopped Ian R. Watts, 25, of Lagrange Park, after observing his white 2011 Volkswagen Jetta jump the curb in the 1100 block of Desplaines Avenue and drive onto the parkway at 1:21 a.m. on Jan. 11. Police curbed the car at Cermak, and Watts failed field sobriety tests. On a breathalyzer test, Watts measured a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .19, more than twice the legal limit of .08. He was charged with DUI and improper lane change.
Police observed a 1998 green Chevy Silverado pickup swerving in the roadway, eastbound on 16th Avenue at Circle Avenue and striking the curb on three different occasions at 1:19 a.m. on Jan. 10. Driver Timothy J. Hurt, 28, of Berwyn, reportedly showed slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and failed field sobriety tests. He registered a BAC of .242 (three times the legal limit of .08) on a breathalyzer test. Hurt was charged with DUI and improper lane change.
Police arrested Kevin Houlihan, 53, of Oak Park after observing his white Saab fail to yield after turning onto Desplaines Avenue at Madison Street, causing another vehicle to swerve to avoid collision at 2:09 a.m. on Jan. 13. Houlihan allegedly had the odor of alcohol on his breath and bloodshot eyes. He fumbled with his wallet, dropping credit cards onto his lap and the car floor. Houlihan refused a breathalyzer test and was, therefore, charged with DUI and traffic violations.
