Congratulations to Teresa and Otto Stefani, who will be celebrating 70 years of marriage all month. Their friends and family are very excited and happy for the couple. Both are active and Teresa swims at the “Y” at least three times a week.

Sympathy to Rich Krieger who had to give up the new love of his life, “Nezzi” the lovable Vischla puppy. Vischlas are dogs that can cause drastic allergic reactions. But nobody researched that far.

You’ll get this paper on Wednesday which is just in time to get over to the Community Center and help Forest Park with the planning of some Girl Scout troops. Remember that tax aide time is here again, and you can find help at the Community Center. The aides will be here on Tuesdays through April 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. Space is limited, so please call for an appointment. Tax-Aide is made available through AARP and gives special attention to people over age 60.

Special thanks to generous students at Forest Park Middle School:ÊSixth grade Social StudiesÊteacher Trisha Alloco coordinates the National Junior Honor Society at FPMS. Before the holiday break, NJHS sponsored a school-wide book drive through Bernie’s Book Bank, located in Lake Forest. Bernie’s distributes gently used books to underpriviledged children. They distribute 13,000 books a week! With Trisha’s help, the students at FPMS donated 3,000 books to the book bank. We’re proud of our students.

Some very special authors will be speaking at Centuries & Sleuths bookstore this month. On Friday, Feb. 3, an author discussion and signing with Kenneth K. Koskodas will discuss his very exciting and moving new novel, No Greater Ally, the untold story of Poland’s forces in WWII.

Then while you’re at your calendar, mark the very special Sara Paretsky evening on Friday, Feb. 22, featuring her latest V.I. Warshawski adventure. That’s at 7 p.m.
