Arlene M. Knop, 73, of Forest Park, died Feb. 1. She was the daughter of the late Otto and Mabel Knop, sister of Marvin O. Knop of Gurnee, aunt of Kathryn M. (Robert) Redinbo of Lafayette, Ind. She was the great-aunt of Jason, Matthew (Angela) and Katelyn Redinbo and great-great aunt of Leah. Arlene was a graduate of St. Paul Lutheran School in Melrose Park, Proviso High School and Triton College. She retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. in Chicago, and worked at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood.

A true animal lover, Arlene was especially fond of cats. Her creativity showed in many ways. She was especially good at knitting, which became a favorite pastime. She shared her beautiful afghans with many family and friends. Art, in the form of watercolor painting, also brought her much joy. She enrolled in classes and eventually started painting seriously. Her love for plants and flowers expanded beyond the doors of her home. She planted and maintained a small public garden outside her building which was enjoyed by her neighbors. Services have been held.
