Edward J. Taube Jr. died on Jan. 26. He was born on August 24th 1947 in Chicago. Ed grew up in Lincoln, Ill. and then moved to and lived in Chicago. Beginning in 1976 he began a relationship with Aspire, an organization that assists adults with disabilities. He obtained his own apartment and eventually moved to Forest Park in 1980.

Ed loved animals especially cats and he had several of them over the years named Herman, Sunshine, and Marilyn Monster. Ed also loved to joke around with everyone he met. Over the years, he was able to maintain close relations his friends. Ed enjoyed dining at Thyme and Honey restaurant and Louie’s Grill restaurant almost every day. Ed also walked up and down Madison Street and got to know most of the merchants over time. Ed retired from the Madden Hospital after 25 years of custodial work. His friends recalled that he was a good man who enjoyed his life and touched many peoples’ lives. They say he will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home 7319 W. Madison, Forest Park. Service will be held there at 11:00 a.m. Friday. He will be buried in Forest Home Cemetery.
