There was calm weather for a night game between the minor team Forest Park Reds facing another Forest Park team the Giants Saturday, May 19. The Reds started strong in the first with Jacob Morales stroking a single and Nic Novak getting hit by pitch. They both scored on a clutch two-out double by Micah O’Neal.

The Giants couldn’t get anything going against Reds’ starter Novak, who struck out seven during the first three innings.   They didn’t score until the fourth inning, when Isaiah Silva, Lucas Christian-Dirks and Ismael McFall started the inning with three straight hits. All three scored on Maurice Jones’ double but he was tagged out at the plate trying to stretch it to a homer.

Meanwhile, the Reds added six runs in the third, two in the fourth and piled on five more in the fifth. In the inning, Morales crushed another single, while O’Neal stroked his second double. Reds hitters like Sam Marino and Lucy Kryger also showed confidence at the plate.

Both Forest Park teams played well but with the Reds having the hotter bats they beat the Giants 15 to 5.
