Jean A. Howard, 64, formerly of Forest Park, died June 21. She was born June 14, 1948, to the late Robert and Mary Nixon in Chicago. She was the first born of five children. At an early age, Jean accepted God in her life and was an active member of the Jackson Boulevard Christian Church.
Jean Anne Nixon married Charles Howard.They had two daughters, Kimberly A. Burke-Howard and Mrs. Angela Deberry. (Michael)
Jean graduated from Crane High School. After graduating Jean pursued her education further by completing her studies at Crane Junior College to pursue her dreams of working in the medical field. She worked as a nurse at West Suburban, Rush and other hospitals in the area for many years.
Jean learned from her parents the importance of having a strong work ethic. This was inherent in her medical career. With beautiful stamina, Jean spent tireless hours giving to others. For Jean, working was so much more than earning a paycheck. It was simply a labor of love of dedicated service to others, such as her volunteer work at St. Eulalia Parish. The pride that Jean took in giving to others left an indelible mark.
She is survived by her siblings Mary (Benjamin, Sr.) Brooks, Ronetta (Frank, Jr.) Sinkfield, Michael (Laura) Nixon, and Lester Nixon, her grandchildren Lamont (U’Nique) Bryant, Eric (Danielle) Bryant, Krystle (James) Howard, Julian (Adry) Howard, Kristopher Palmer, Kurt Palmer, Jr., great grandchildren, nieces and nephew and great-nieces and nephews.
