On June 30th we held a benefit event for Opportunity Knocks on the 400 block of Elgin Avenue in Forest Park. We were very fortunate to have more than 300 of our friends, family and neighbors come out to support the event and our mission of providing opportunities and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities.

In the tried-and-true tradition of all OK Events, this one too turned out to be a total team effort. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of the amazing people who helped plan, sponsor, volunteer and support OK through this event.

First and foremost, we want to thank all those who attended the event. Without your support, our organization would not enjoy the success and freedom in programming that it currently does.

As per usual, at the core of the eventfs success were the amazing volunteers who helped us plan and staff the event. Your continued commitment to our cause is what allows us to excel in event fundraising and we canft thank you nearly enough.

Next, we would like to thank the residents and business owners on and nearby the 400 block of Elgin. Each of you was as cooperative and supportive as the next in allowing us the right of way on your street. Your patience and understanding were very much appreciated.

To the Village of Forest Park, from the Mayorfs Office to the Public Works Department, we want to offer our most sincere gratitude for your efforts in support of this event. Special thanks must be made to Sally Cody for all of her patience and guidance in navigating the planning process. We couldnft have done it without you, Sally!

To our sponsoring partners, most notably Steve Skrine from Skrine Chops and Dennis Miller and Frank Battaglia from Fatduck Tavern & Grill we say a big thanks for your collaboration. It was a great team effort and a true pleasure to work with you all in putting on what we hope was the first of a long-running annual affair.

We would also like to thank our other sponsors, including AA Rental, Roy Strom Co., Di Tommaso Imports, Burke Beverage, The Coca-Cola Company and Sugared, Sweets by Nikki.

Thanks to all! We hope to see you out at the park on the 22nd of September for the 6th annual OK Classic Softball Tournament!

Phil Carmody, President
Opportunity Knocks.
