Congratulations to the McCoys – David, Tanya and Tanaya – on the birth of Trinity Joy, May 15. Tanaya is now an official big sister with lots of responsibilities.
Elsie Rodenbostel had not been well for a long time. Then last week with her family, Pam, Kim and Kevin at her side, she slipped away. Marv Rodenbostel, Elsie’s late husband, died a few years ago. Many of the old neighbors from Adams Street gathered at Zimmerman-Harnett’s to talk about the old days. Penny Cusimano was among the former neighbors who came to pay their respects.
Another familiar face we will see no more in Forest Park is Pat Welsh, loved by many. Pat was a non-stop reader, reader, reader. She seemed to know every book in the library when she worked there years ago. Patrons valued Pat’s advice on what books to read, and she loved giving short reviews along with her advice. After leaving the library, Pat practiced her other best love, caring for children. Grace and Anne Spence, Sidney Quick, the Fitzpatrick kids, and Ethan Flanagan were among her favorites. Sympathy to Pat’s many friends and to her daughter and honorary daughter, Andrea and Pam. Final arrangements are pending, but there will probably be a memorial service at the Linden House, possibly on July 24.
Shown in happier days are Ian Brown, Amy Bahee their dog Maggie with their little friend Christina Li. Amy had been seriously ill for some time and she died a few weeks ago. Now Ian is keeping busy on construction work and Maggie is adjusting to the change.
Sympathy to all of the above who have lost loved ones.
