I was still angry after I opened my 2011second-installment tax bill sent by Ms. Maria Pappas, when I read that our cash-strapped D209 discovered a $3.5 to $3.7 million surplus [Surprise windfall for D209, July 24, 2012].
My first installment was up $500 and then my second installment also went up $500.
It seems like our school board attended Proviso East High also, which has one of the the poorest records in the state. I also found out our taxes in Forest Park went up 19 percent.
I’ll have to search my home for extra thousands.
