On Tuesday, July 17, around 2 p.m., a man entered Krenek’s Antiques, 7501 Madison St, and asked to look at several rings in a display case. He snatched a diamond ring from the salesperson and fled the building heading west on Madison St. His image was captured on several surveillance systems. He is a male African-American, age 40 to 50 with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark White Sox cap, purple jeans and boots.

On August 2, around 1:15 p.m. two men using a flathead screwdriver pried open the locked front door of the Madison Commons condominium complex, 7243 Madison St., and burglarized one of the units. A neighbor confronted the men as they stood in front of the victim’s door before the break in. Video surveillance captured the men exiting the building carrying bags containing stolen items. Both were described as African American. One was between 20 and 30 years old, a heavy build with a dark complexion. The other was described as 30 to 40 years of age with a medium build. They both wore T-shirts, jeans and baseball caps.

Anyone with information on either crime should call Detective Jarlath Heveran at (847) 421-7710.
