As much as the residents of Forest Park have conflicted opinions of Proviso Township High School District 209, improvements in our troubled public high school district can only improve the quality of life in our village.
School Board elections are coming in April. Only 50 signatures gets you on the ballot.
We see an opportunity for District 209 to benefit from a slate of true reformers, volunteers and active members of the community who can truly bring our public high schools to a level of improvement.
Running a campaign in ten feeder districts is daunting, but we’re encouraged by a grass roots feeling that a breath of fresh air could come to our struggling district as Board President Emanuel “Chris” Welch moves on to Springfield.
We encourage our civic minded neighbors to take on this challenge: for the sake of taxpayers, teachers and most importantly: the students of Proviso.
