Bill Dwyer’s friends and neighbors extend sincere sympathy to him, his dogs and family. His wife Carol is released from her suffering. Everyone will miss her. What else is there to say? A memorial in her honor will be held at Unity Church, 405 Euclid Ave. in Oak Park on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m.
A very special three-way happy birthday greeting is in order for Helen Scharama, Rory Sciaccotta and Scott Buresch on Oct. 21. All three relatives will celebrate a birthday; they are all 21 years apart and the oldest, Helen is 90 this year. So 21 years on the 21st.
Congratulations to newlyweds Tom and Tracy Fairchild who were married on Saturday, Oct. 13. The bride was formerly Tracy Burst, always an upbeat, smiling friendly waitress at Louie’s Grill. She and Tom have been friends since seventh grade at Pershing School and again at Morton West. The wedding took place at Niko’s in Bridgeview. Everyone wishes many years of happiness to the couple.
Father of the Year award goes to Marvin Johnson, father of Faith Johnson, who attends Field-Stevenson where she is a member of the Forest Park Girl Scouts. If you were a scout, you’ll remember the ceremony of walking the bridge from Daisy to Brownie, Brownie to Girl Scout, etc. The bridge was always an imaginary one, but no more! Mr. Johnson is home, even as we speak, building a real bridge for use by the Brownies and others.
Peggy Woods is awfully proud of her son, McCook County Police Officer David Formanski. Not only did he run the Chicago Marathon in 3:56:53, he also raced in the Sept. 9 Iron Man Triathlon in Madison, Wis. David biked, swam and ran in the race, finishing in a time of 12:22:57. Thanks to supporters, including girlfriend Tiffany Pienta, he even says he’ll do it again – maybe in an exotic destination, such as Cozumel, Mexico.
The artistic, always interesting display windows at Schauer’s are not the work of a professional window decorator. They are the handiwork of Loretta Jantz, faithful employee of Schauer’s for many years. Thank you, Loretta, for always making the walk past Schauer’s enjoyable.
