Pugs of the carribean: Jaclyn Scatena was a royal mermaid, but her pug-nosed subjects, dressed as various sea creatures, paid little attention to her in the window of deedee & edee.DAVID PIERINI/Staff photographer

The votes for favorite window in the Forest Park Holiday Walk have been tabulated, and they’ve gone to the dogs — again.

Every year, the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce holds an informal vote to find the crowd’s favorites. Visitors filled out paper ballots and dropped them into boxes along Madison Street during the walk.

As it did last year, the deedee & edee pugs-in-costume entry fetched the winning tally, with 86 votes, according to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Laurie Kokenes.

Todd & Holland Tea Merchants came in second with their pink-wigged holiday dancers, who received 63 votes. Schauer’s Hardware, a Doctor Who-themed display, won third place with 21 votes. Knit Nirvana (Santa’s beard spun into yarn) and INTUIT Dance (real ballerinas) tied for fourth place (both with19 votes) and Pretty Little Things’ display of Three French Hens received 15 votes.
