Kummerow

Donald G. Kummerow, 88, died Dec. 7, 2012. He was born in Forest Park on November 5, 1924 in the family home in which he, his mother and sister were born.

Don graduated from Proviso High School in 1943. He was a World War II vet, serving in the Pacific theater. He proudly served Forest Park as a reserve firefighter for 20 years. He retired as a millwright from J.I. Case in 1992.

Don is reunited with his beloved wife of 27 years Violet (Schultz) who passed away 30 years ago. The two lived in Maywood and LaGrange Highlands and then returned to Forest Park.

Don was preceded in death by parents George and Mae (Klemp) and older brothers Willard and Kenneth (Edna Mae). Don is survived and will be dearly missed by sons Darryl and David (Janice), sister Marilyn, sister in law Betty Schultz, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Burial was private.
