Each of us has been offered God’s blessings, will we open our hands to receive and use them?
(Look at your hands) May God bless you with stories of discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and disconnected relationships, so you know that while your hands may mess things up, they have the power to fix things.
(Reach your hands up) May God b less you with stories that stretch you out of your comfort zones with the unrest of unnecessary injustice of hunger, so that you may work for justice, freedom, and peace.
(Reach your hands across the table) May God bless you with tearful stories about those who suffer from starvation due to war, poverty, discrimination, globalization, or destruction of Creation.
(Reach hands to one another’s shoulders) May your hands, lives and stories be blessed for service and your heart be blessed to believe that you can make the change in this world.
