Forest Park has LOTS of organizations working hard to benefit the children of our community. Some are strictly volunteer staffed, like youth baseball and scouting. Others, like the Park District, Community Center and Library, receive tax money to serve the total community, including children. Kiwanis works hard to find programs and organizations it can support, and to provide funds to help in these efforts. Here’s a small sampling of programs supported in part with Kiwanis Club time, energy, and/or money: Forest Park Little League, The Park District Deck-A-Tree program, The Community Center Food Pantry, Library Summer Reading Program, Scouting, and the Annual Juneteenth celebration at the park.

Maybe you’re involved in a local program or organization that serves children and could use a helping hand. If so, don’t hesitate to contact your local Kiwanis Club. Mary Win Connor is the current president, and you can e-mail her at to inquire further.
