Kiwanis is a large, international organization. But it isn’t distant and impersonal. No, it has a set of basic values that anyone can relate to. Here’s one of them:
To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.
Does this sound like something you could sign up to do? In fact, lots of people are involved in just such efforts, even if they aren’t Kiwani members. The magic of Kiwanis is that regular folks come together in an organization that has values like these as the central reason for its existence. The Forest Park club counts among its members educators, business people, a school bus driver, a librarian, and a lot of other people who just want to help kids, and aren’t interested in titles or paychecks. No, they just want to help kids. Doesn’t that sound like something YOU would like to do?
