On Saturday, Feb. 23 Forest Park Cub Scout Pack 109 hosted a Pancake Breakfast at the Historical Society of Forest Park in the basement of St. Peter’s Church. This successful event would not have been possible without the generous community support we received from Ed’s Way, Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor, Trader Joe’s, Tony’s Finer Foods, Jewel, Starship Subs, Bertuca Salon and Spa, Louie’s Grill, Schauer’s Hardware, the Historical Society and the Des Plaines Valley Council.

Pack 109 is using the funds raised from this breakfast to participate in a camping trip to Galena commemorating the Civil War in the end of April. This year’s pilgrimage is titled “Galena to Vicksburg” commemorates Ulysses S. Grant and Illinois contributions to the war. Pack 109 will be honoring four men from the Village of Harlem (now Forest Park) who volunteered in the Illinois 89th Infantry, Company K. We are so grateful to all the leaders, families and community support who made this possible.
