Sam Alonzo Sr. has been a Forest Park resident since 1974. He married his wife, Jamie, at Saint Bernardine’s that year and became strongly involved in his church and community. He has volunteered his time at church functions, fundraisers, and as a CCD educator for over twenty years, and he served on the Parish Council for over ten years.
Sam’s two children, Sam Jr. and Amber, attended Betsy Ross Elementary School and Forest Park Middle School, where Sam Sr. served on the PTO and numerous Booster Clubs for twelve years. He was a Scout Master and volunteered as a Little League Coach at the Park District.
Professionally, Sam has a wealth of experience in computer operations and management, having worked at Swift Agricultural Chemical Company, Kraft General Foods, and Cargill Investors Services. Sam also worked at Home Depot as a department head and was dedicated to improving customer service. Now that Sam is retired, he spends his time with family and volunteering at the Park District.
Sam has served as Park Commissioner for the past six years and looks forward to continuing his work if re-elected. Sam has devoted thirty-nine years to serving Forest Park and he is excited to be a part of the community’s successful future.
