“Where’s Forest Park, again?” may soon become a question of the past, as the town continues to make appearances in Chicago’s regional media.

Forest Park made its way into Chicago Magazine twice in the past two months.

Housing

Forest Park appeared in the April issue on the list Top Suburbs for First Time Homebuyers as a “lower-cost alternative to neighboring Oak Park.” The magazine says the village “holds its own, thanks, in part, to funky Madison Street, which is loaded with boutiques, galleries and restaurants.” Median home prices are listed as $160,000. The magazine also includes Brookfield and Des Plaines on the list.

Best new restaurants

The May issue raves about Piggyback Barbeque (410 Circle Ave.) on the list of Ten Best New Budget Restaurants. The restaurant is described as having an “all-American vibe.”
