As the Review reported on Monday, I have made the difficult decision to relocate Purple Leaf Farms from Forest Park to property located in Elgin, Ill. I just wanted to publicly thank everyone who supported the mini-farm here in Forest Park including: my customers; all the village staff and elected officials who helped with the logistics of making the farm a reality; area businesses who bought my products and donated supplies; and my family and friends who supported this endeavor in countless ways. I am sad to move my farming away from Forest Park, but I feel it’s what I need to do to grow my business and follow my dream. Please remember I’m not going far, and I hope to be able to participate in the Forest Park Farmers Market as well as other area markets this season.

I am still a proponent of urban / suburban agriculture projects in communities like Forest Park, and I hope the Village will consider supporting similar projects in the future.

Thank you, everyone, for a great 2012 season! I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings.
