There was more hurry-up-and-wait for the Park District of Forest Park in the quest to acquire the Roos building when the board got news that the sheriff’s auction in Chicago for the parcel was postponed again Thursday.

The auction should now take place “near the end of May” said Parks Director Larry Piekarz. The auction will complete the foreclosure process, so the board can move toward acquiring the property.

Meanwhile, heavy rains and park cleanup caused the board to cancel their April meeting. The next scheduled meeting will take place May 2, when newly elected Park Board Member Matt Walsh will be sworn in.
