I recently read your piece which mentioned the PARCC assessments currently under development [Forest Park schools superintendent asked to participate in administrator strategy task force].
“The PARCC tests, which are given by computer instead of No.2 pencil, are theoretically scheduled to begin next year.”
I wanted to clarify that the PARCC assessments will be administered for the first time in spring of the 2014 2015 school year not next year. Also, PARCC will be developing a pencil and paper version of the assessments that states can offer to districts that may not be ready to administer online.
