Tom Holmes’ article [A new beginning in an old church building, June 26] stated that because of declining attendance, St. Peter’s was no longer able to pay our bills. This is not true. At the time of the sale of our building, we were up to date with all our monthly bills. The only two outstanding bills were a loan from the bank and our pastor’s pay, which she was kind enough to wait for until the building was sold. The remaining money will go to different organizations.
We hope and pray that Mt. Moriah will continue to work with Al Anon, Overeaters Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, the quilting group and the Historical Society of Forest Park so that everything can continue the way it has with us.
