It was a weak showing last week as Proviso East principal Tony Valente came to Forest Park to meet parents and taxpayers. The turnout was dismal and that is on Forest Parkers who rightly crab about this school but also have a responsibility to engage with it.
Valente has to know that the poor turnout was a reflection of the long-term disaffection Forest Park has for Proviso. We hope the message he took back was that this has to be a long-term wooing and that he and other officials will need to make many trips back to Forest Park. We appreciate him coming.
