The village of Forest View thanked Forest Park for the loan of a squad car during last April’s heavy flooding. The town of around 700 residents is located along the Des Plaines River, about 4600 South.

During the flooding that began April 18, 160 homes were flooded and more than 250 people were rescued. Garbage by the tons was cleared from the streets in the weeks following. The village hall and fire station were also flooded and had to be evacuated, causing a shortage of police vehicles.

Town President Richard Grenvich thanked Forest Park on Monday, writing, “Your village’s caring support helped make a difference in the lives of our residents who suffered major loss due to the severe flooding in April.”
