Mildred “Mitzie” T. DeVilbiss, 83, died Sept. 4. She was a longtime Oak Park and Forest Park resident.
She was sister of Phylis, Charles (Kathleen), and the late Rita Cramsey and Mary Pierce and the aunt of 17 nieces and nephews and many, many grand nieces and nephews.
Mildred was born in Quincy, Ill. on Apr. 6, 1930 and received her Bachelor’s degree from Quincy University in 1952. She went on to get her Master’s in Education from Loyola University in Chicago.
She was a member of St. Edmund Church and sang in their choir. She was baseball fan who loved the Chicago Cubs and was a world traveler. Mildred was also an active member of the Forest Park Senior Center who enjoyed all the various outings with her friends there.
A funeral Mass was held Sept. 7 at St. Edmund in Oak Park with arrangements by Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home. Memorials can be made in Mitzie’s name to Ron Santo Juvenile Diabetes Association at Illinois.jdrf.org.
