The Historical Society of Forest Park would like to thank the following businesses and their owners for such a successful “Dining Along Madison Street” Restaurant Crawl on Sunday, September 8. Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor, Jimmy’s Place, the Junction Diner, Shanahan’s/La Maison de Bonbon, and Skrine Chops all were fabulous and had all of the 37 participants full by the time the tour ended. “Combining history and food was an interesting idea and made it a lot of fun” was just one of the many positive comments heard throughout the three-hour tour.

The Historical Society appreciates the support of these businesses and Ed’s Way Grocery, who donated bottled water for the event, and thanks those that came out to participate in tour along Madison Street. A huge thank you also goes out to the volunteers for the event: Dixie Paugh, Judy Anderson, John Rice, Elizabeth Carpenter and Jean Lotus. The event would not have been a success without you all. Last, but not least, a thank you also goes out to Augie Aleksy at Centuries and Sleuths Bookstore for the use of his storefront as a registration area. Please be on the lookout for more events and programs in the future. For more information regarding the Society or how you can get involved, please contact Diane Grah at 708-232-3747.
